NOTICE OF PUBLIC TESTS, VOTING SYSTEM EXHIBITION, DIAGRAM OF BALLOT, VOTING INSTRUCTIONS, BALLOT PREPARATION AND COUNTING OF BALLOTS FOR THE MAY 2, 2023, ANNUAL SCHOOL, AND SPECIAL PURPOSE DISTRICT ELECTION: Preparation and counting of ballots cast for the Lake County, MT May 2, 2023, School Special District Election will begin Tuesday, May 2 at 8 am in the Large Conference Room at the Lake County Courthouse (106 4 Ave E, Polson, MT 59850). Results will not be released until after 8:00 pm on Election Day Observers must check in with the election office (Rm 121) to be escorted to the counting location. Montana law requires that any person participating or observing the procedures of the count is required to take an oath that they will not discuss the results of the early counting of votes at any time prior to the closing of the polls on Election Day. A person who knowingly violates this law shall be imprisoned for a term not to exceed two years and/or be fined an amount not less than $100,000 and not more than $500,000 The following events are open to the public and will occur at the Lake County Courthouse (106 4 Ave E, Polson, MT 59860) for the above election: Public testing of the ExpressVote and DS-450 voting system will be held at 9:00 am on April 20" in the large conference room at the courthouse. Counting of provisional ballots will begin at 3:00 pm on Monday, May 8, 2023 in the large conference room. Please note that the county's voting systems are on public exhibition at the Lake County Election Office from April 12, 2023, through May 2, 2023, at 106 4 Ave E. Polson, MT 59860.
