November 3, 2020 - General Election Lake County will be conducting the election by mail ballot with an in-person option at the election office. Regular polling locations will not be open on Election Day. What does this mean? All active, registered voters and provisional voters will be mailed a ballot on October 9th. If an individual wants to vote in -person, they may come to the Lake County Election Office between October 2nd and November 2nd during regular business hours for early voting or between 7 am - 8 pm on Election Day. What if I need to register to vote or update my voter registration? Regular registration is open until October 26th. Individuals may mail in completed voter registration applications up until this day (postmarks are accepted) or register in-person at the election office. Starting October 27th individuals will need to appear in-person at the election office to register to vote, Between the hours of noon - 5 pm on November 2nd, individuals may register to vote but will have to return on Election Day to receive a ballot. How do I return my ballot? Ballots will have prepaid postage and can be returned in the mail. Individuals may also return ballots in-person to the Lake County Election Office during regular business hours. Voted ballots must be in the election office by 8 pm on Election Day. What if I spoil or lose my ballot? Ballot replacement request forms can be downloaded at lakemt.gov/election/election. html or requested by calling (406) 883-7268. An individual may also come into the election office to retrieve a new ballot. Hours of Operation: 8 am - 5 pm/Monday - Friday The office will be closed on October 12th due to the Federal holiday and will have extended hours on Election Day, 7 am - 8 pm.
